Dermatology
Dermatovenereology is a science that studies the various structures and functions of the skin, mucous membranes, hair, and nails in children and adults. In addition, it includes the diagnosis and treatment of all of the above.
As everyone already knows, the skin is the largest human organ. It reveals the state of the whole organism. Besides, the skin acts as a barrier, preventing bacteria and any other harmful substances from the outside environment from entering the body.
The most common diseases in dermatovenereology are skin cancer, skin warts, fungi, acne, eczema, dermatitis, sexually transmitted illnesses, etc.
Dermatovenereological examination of children and adults includes:
- General examination
- Examination of the skin and mucous membrane of the whole body, hair, and nails. A dermatovenerologist examines with the naked eye or using instruments, commonly magnifying glass and a lamp.
- Dermoscopic examination
- Dermoscopic examination in our clinic is performed with the most sophisticated FotoFinder digital dermoscopic technology, which represents the gold standard in dermoscopy and is recommended by the leading world dermatologists.
With the Fotofinder ATBM® system, we are able to monitor:
- How each mole evolves, along with photographing each mole.
- General condition of the skin of the whole body.
Examination by a dermatovenerologist is painless and, depending on the patient’s condition, usually lasts 20-30 minutes.
